Make sure your oasis away from the sun doesn't just block sunlight, but works hard to keep the heat out too.

Think cooling off by the pool or enjoying a good read on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Turn down the heat for a truly comfortable experience.

Choose your colours

Colour lead times may vary on certain finishes in some areas. Check with your Stramit Outdoor representative before ordering.

The COLORBOND® steel colour swatches displayed have been reproduced to represent actual product colours as accurately as possible. However, we recommend checking your chosen colour against an actual sample of the product before purchasing, as varying light conditions, screens and devices may affect colour tones and finishes.

COLORBOND® and ® colour names are registered trade marks of BlueScope Steel Limited. ™ colours are also trade marks of BlueScope Steel Limited. ABN 16 000 011 058.

With no gable infill, and just a beam across the bottom of your gable, you let in maximum light and air.

A collar tie (a beam just across the centre of your gable) lets additional light and air in, with more clearance height than the bottom cord.

Fully open the end of your gable, allowing maximum airflow, light and clearance height.

While beam size is usually specified by the design, you have the option of increasing the thickness of your beams to build a stronger visual presence. This may help your design tie in more with the style of your house or existing structures.

FAQs

How much does a pergola cost?

The cost of your new pergola will vary greatly, depending on things like the chosen materials, the size, and the complexity of the installation. Your Stramit Outdoor distributor can talk you through all costs involved specific to your design.

Do I need planning permission to build a pergola?

It's likely that your new pergola will need council approval – however what this looks like exactly can vary depending on the size, height, decking or flooring type used and location on your site. Your Stramit Outdoor distributor can help get this sorted.

Will a pergola increase the value of my home?

Yes, in many cases a pergola may increase the value of your home. It’s a great way of adding a functional and beautiful garden feature, and can make your home more attractive to potential future buyers.

Is it cheaper to build your own pergola?

It can be cheaper to purchase a pergola kit and build it yourself, however we recommend this should only be done by experienced installers. If you’ve got the DIY skills needed and want to do your own installation, talk to your Stramit Outdoor distributor about a pergola kit option.

What size should a pergola be?

Your pergola should ideally complement your home and fit your garden or outdoor space, and will need to be big enough to accommodate any furniture, or items such as BBQs. Beyond that, it’s up to you and what size you need to create your happy place.

Are your pergola made with genuine Australian steel?

Yes, we use COLORBOND® steel, and materials roll-formed in Australia by Stramit. Customisations or accessories may vary in origin – talk to your local Stramit Outdoor distributor if you’ve got any questions about your exact design.

Can I build my own pergola?

You can choose to install your own pergola, but we strongly recommend only doing this if you’re suitably qualified. Otherwise, Stramit Outdoor distributors work with experienced installers ready to build your happy place for you.

How do I design my pergola?

Getting started on your design for a pergola is easy – even if you’ve only got a vague idea, you can simply chat to your local Stramit Outdoor distributor and they’ll help you out. Things to keep in mind include the size, style, colours and materials you’re after – and most importantly, what your happy place looks like, whether that’s a family BBQ space, relaxing getaway spot or a stunning new feature for your garden.

You can also use our Stramit Outdoor Designer App to play with design options, and visualise what you’re getting before you put your money down. Available on Apple and Google Play, or on the web here.
